About us
Environment Minnesota
Research & Policy Center
Clean water to drink and clean air to breathe; healthy lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that don’t pollute and never run out — all this should be the heritage we leave to future generations. Our staff research the issues, educate the public, and win tangible results.
About us
Research
Investigating problems and crafting solutions
Finding global warming solutions. Extreme weather events lead to loss of life and billions of dollars in economic damage. What’s more, scientists predict that global warming could increase the frequency of such events in the future. Our report, "Global Warming and Extreme Weather," shined a light on what could become "the new normal" if we fail to avert the worst effects of global warming.
Education
Educating the public and making our voices heard
Building community involvement. Minnesotans understand the importance of protecting our beautiful lakes and amazing forests, and we're helping communities discuss the best ways to go about it. Dozens join us at our monthly "Green Ideas and Ham" breakfast forum to learn, share and get involved on the most pressing environmental issues of our day.
Foundation support
The Environment Minnesota Research & Policy Center would like to thank the Energy Foundation, The Carolyn Foundation, and the RE-AMP Strategic Media Fund for supporting our work in 2011.
More ways to give
Environment Minnesota Research & Policy Center gratefully accept bequests, beneficiary designations of IRAs and life insurance, and gifts of securities to support our work. Your gift will assure that we can continue to protect Minnesota’s air, water and open spaces for future generations.
